To whom is may concern—
It’s getting pretty rough down here. I don’t know if you noticed, but there is constant war and people are divided in every way imaginable. It feels as though we are on the edge of collapse at every turn. Our food and water are being poisoned. The economy is hanging by a thread. There was even a global pandemic —though I am not certain if the true cause was illness… or fear.
Everyone is yelling and no one is listening.
The other beings on this planet will go down with the ship, and seemingly have no real say. Plants are treated as commodities in every possible way and animals are looked at as either food or a nuisance.
So tell me, what exactly is your plan for cleaning up this mess? Did you design this spaceship to be self-sufficient, or self-destructive?
I do admit, there are some people that are attempting to reset the course —but— each tiny faction has a different idea as to which is the correct direction, so they argue and nothing seems to get any better.
Can you help your residents in any way or are we on our own? What will it take to unite us, or at least find common ground?
Perhaps another flood is in order.
You used to be so active in all of this and now it seems as though you’ve given up on your tenants. Are you involved elsewhere… or are we just an experiment gone awry?
Please give us a clue as to what to do. Any little guidance will help.
Sincerely,
A Concerned Earthling.
Dear Concerned,
SAY WHAT???
Heidegger held that ‘It is in language that things first come to be and are.’ Here is his definition of the human:
“Man shows himself as the entity which talks. This does not signify that the possibility of vocal utterance is peculiar to him, but rather that he is the entity which is such as to discover the world and [himself].”

Dear Concerned,
I watched the PBS video of highlights of the Watergate hearings 50 years ago, and I was struck by the debaters that had a clear idea of what was right and wrong. Those were social attitudes and narrative in the US of the 50s. Fast forward to the Trump hearings where right and wrong have been muddied and relativized. Many people on one side are deniers of blatant facts, even though an “insurrection” has happened in front of them.
We all live socially in a time where we’ve begun space travel and our cultural, ecological, geographic, gravitational, and gyroscopic orientation has shifted. Perhaps, I’m thinking, your human moral compass and narrative has also changed and become confused by many. What is the contemporary narrative and mythology that grounds, illuminates and holds together this reality?
Sincerely,
THE GOD ORACLE
